Since 2006, Derek Prince Ministries has been working to make Derek’s Bible teachings accessible across Africa through the voice dubbing of the Foundations DVD Series. This project has brought Derek’s teachings to life in 13 languages: Afrikaans, Swahili, Bembe, Shona, Ndebele, North Sotho/Pedi, Venda, Tshwane, South Sotho, SiSwati, Xhosa, Zulu, and Portuguese.
The Foundations Series by Derek Prince is a fundamental teaching series based on Hebrews 6:1-2. In the DVD series, Derek Prince covers six key foundational doctrines:
- Repentance from Dead Works – Understanding true repentance and turning away from sin.
- Faith Toward God – How to develop strong, unwavering faith in God.
- The Doctrine of Baptisms – Exploring water baptism and the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
- Laying on of Hands – The biblical practice of impartation and blessing.
- Resurrection of the Dead – The hope and reality of resurrection in Christ.
- Eternal Judgment – Understanding God's final judgment and what it means for us.
A Hunger for Truth
These teachings are transforming lives. Many pastors, leaders, and believers—some with little access to sound biblical resources—are now equipped with strong, faith-building foundations in their own languages.
In Zimbabwe, one outreach worker shared,
"Every Saturday, we present Derek’s foundational teachings in Shona. People are so hungry for the truth. They walk 6 to 8 hours just to join us and hear the Gospel. When people find out we’re there, the word spreads quickly, and more come."
By dubbing Derek Prince’s teachings into local languages, we ensure that more people can receive solid biblical teaching in a way that is clear, engaging, and impactful.
Many people, especially in Africa, come from oral cultures where learning is traditionally done through hearing and storytelling rather than reading. Listening to teachings helps them absorb and retain the message more effectively than reading a book.
Furthermore, not everyone has the ability to read well, especially in remote or underprivileged areas. Voiced teachings ensure that even those who cannot read can still receive biblical instruction.
We distribute the dubbed Foundations Series through:
- DVDs & USB Packs – Given freely at graduation services for Missionary Exposure Training pastors and French-speaking leaders. These include the French Foundations Series, books, and the Self-Study Bible Course.
- Partnerships with Ministries – We provide these resources to YWAM, O.M., and Iris Ministry, helping them train and disciple believers.
- Digital Platforms – Once dubbing is complete, sermons will be uploaded to language-specific websites and YouTube, ensuring wider accessibility across Africa.
Expanding the Vision
In addition to dubbing the 10 Foundations videos, we have begun subtitling the Video Bible School sermons in Xhosa and Zulu. These will later be voiced and included in our 30-video Bible School program on YouTube, reaching even more people with Derek’s life-changing Bible teaching.
